Special Education Needs

DSC00957

At Perranporth School we ensure that all children are supported with both pastoral and academic needs. We provide pupils with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support them in their learning and help them to become more independent learners. We value input from parents and the pupils themselves.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me (Nadia Lampier, SENCo) at school to discuss any questions you may have about your child’s learning. Please come and see our Parent Support Advisor (PSA) (Becky Higgins) at our Parent Support Group or speak to me  on Thursday or Friday (ring the school office for an appointment).

Perranporth School is an inclusive school and may offer the following range of provision to support children with SEND SEND-Local-Offer-2019

What is the admission criteria for children with SENd?

Places will first be offered to children with a Statements of Special Educational Needs or Education Health and Care Plan which names the school. These children will be included in the overall admission number of the school.

The Governor responsible for SEN provision is Mrs Helen Goodey.  We are always happy to listen and talk to parents about our graduated response to SEN provision and how best we can support individual children in achieving to the best of their ability. We work closely with a wide range of external agencies to enhance our provision and ensure the most appropriate strategies are in place to enable learning.
