Friends of Perranporth School
Our key events are spread throughout the year. In the autumn term we organise a Halloween Disco for pupils and hold our Christmas fair in December. For the spring term we have an evening of Easter bingo and then we end the school year with the summer fair.
In recent years we have also introduced The Great Summer Camp Out, Bag2School collections and selling refreshments on Sports Day.
Money raised over the 2013/2014 academic year enabled FOPS to pay for:
- A touring pantomime group to visit the school.
- Replacement football goals for the school field.
- A trip for each class.
- The regeneration of the outside area for St Piran Class.
- The purchase of several Raspberry Pi computers for KS2.
- New play equipment including a large pirate ship and climbing walls.
Alongside this, two FOPS members have undertaken the task of raising funds specifically to regenerate our school pool. This was built in 1966 and is in desperate need of updating. The money is largely coming from grant applications but they have also organised events such as The Perran Dash (a beach run) and a Nativity Play with all the roles played by adults. Their Friday Cake Sales are also raising valuable funds for the Pool Project.
FOPS news is included in the school newsletter and also added to our Friends of Perranporth School Facebook Page. If you are interested in finding out more then please contact the school secretary.
